Greenville, N.C. — A Dunn man pleaded guilty Wednesday to robbing a post office in Benson last year, authorities said.
Michael Gordon McIntosh, 25, pleaded guilty to armed postal robbery and discharging a firearm during a crime of violence. He will be sentenced later and faces up to 50 years in prison and a $500,000 fine.
McIntosh walked into the Benson post office on Feb. 29, 2008, and fired two shots, nearly hitting an employee, authorities said.
No customers were inside the post office during the robbery, and no one was injured in the incident.
