e-mail print friendly

A Dunn man pleaded guilty Wednesday to robbing a post office in Benson last year, authorities said.

Michael Gordon McIntosh, 25, pleaded guilty to armed postal robbery and discharging a firearm during a crime of violence. He will be sentenced later and faces up to 50 years in prison and a $500,000 fine.

McIntosh walked into the Benson post office on Feb. 29, 2008, and fired two shots, nearly hitting an employee, authorities said.

No customers were inside the post office during the robbery, and no one was injured in the incident.

This was a felony offense on a government institution. Hence, the sentence being so extreme. My thoughts go out to the family of the child that was killed in the bus stop incident.

That's too many years for that crime. A woman passes a school bus and kills a student and gets probation only and this man didn't kill anybody.

thats desperate
