Smithfield, N.C. — Customers of Smithfield Utilities went without power for about five hours late Monday evening after a transmission line went down, Johnston County dispatch officials said.
Utility officials said the town was without power from approximately 6:30 p.m. to 11:20 p.m.
Smithfield Utilities provides power to all residents of Smithfield.

Seems like we have become a society of spoiled brats who are totally mortified of the possibility of being without all of our "conveniences".....did you ever think that spending some time in peace & quiet could actually be GOOD for ya?
