Raleigh, N.C. — One person died Monday morning in a three-car wreck on Penny Road, authorities said.
An older-model Mazda was eastbound on Penny Road at about 7:45 a.m. when the driver lost control on the rain-slicked road, authorities said. The car crossed the center line, and two westbound vehicles collided with it, authorities said.
The driver of the Mazda was pronounced dead at WakeMed. His name hasn't been released, but authorities said he was from Morocco.
The drivers of the other two cars suffered minor injuries, authorities said.
Speed and alcohol weren't factors in the wreck, authorities said, citing the rainy weather and slick conditions are the primary factors for the accident.
