A 17-year-old girl died in a single-vehicle wreck on Schley Road, north of Hillsborough, around 10:30 p.m. Thursday, state troopers said.

Troopers said that Sara Overaker, of Hillsborough, lost control of her vehicle while going west on Schley Road, near Hunt Road. Her vehicle went off the right side of the road and struck a tree.

"If I were you I would secretly install or have installed a device that tracks your sons car and its speed."

Don't be secret about it. Make sure he knows and that you are watching all the time.

My grandson was very good friends with this young lady, in fact she had such a good outlook for her future. Last summer while camping we talked about how she could get a sports scholsrship to attend college. My prayers are with her family and with the Cedar Ridge High School students. A note to you as young drivers, listen to your parents about safe driving. My grandson has just started to drive only 10 days ago. Each time he leaves, in the car, I become uneasy until he returns. I went to see the vehicle she was driving today, this auto should be placed in front of Cedar Ridge High School so all students could see. God Bless each of you Parents and Grandparents, who have young adults driving.

My son went to school with this young lady. He has lost two friends in the last week, this young lady, and a young man in college with him.

I take every opportunity to remind he and his sister how precious life is and to do what is within their control to make sure things like this don't happen to them.

Lord grant comfort and peace to this family.

A great loss. My condolences to the family and friends.

Z man, If I were you I would secretly install or have installed a device that tracks your sons car and its speed. I saw them for sale once at Sam’s and their only 90 bucks. Your kid might not like it but it will give you peace of mind
