Hillsborough, N.C. — A 17-year-old girl died in a single-vehicle wreck on Schley Road, north of Hillsborough, around 10:30 p.m. Thursday, state troopers said.
Troopers said that Sara Overaker, of Hillsborough, lost control of her vehicle while going west on Schley Road, near Hunt Road. Her vehicle went off the right side of the road and struck a tree.
Overaker died of her injuries. She was the only occupant of the vehicle.
Troopers said that Overaker was exceeding a safe speed at the time of the crash.
