Fayetteville police were searching for a woman accused of injuring a Fort Bragg soldier in a hit-and-run Thursday afternoon.

Investigators said that Lisa Diane Parrish, of Southern Pines, was driving a 1992 Chrysler Lebaron that struck a 2005 Harley Davidson on Murchison Road, near Pamalee Drive, at 2:45 p.m.

Parrish fled the scene on foot, police said.

The motorcyclist, David Chesier, suffered extensive leg injuries and was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. His injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, police said. Chesier is a soldier stationed at Fort Bragg.

Police charged Parrish with felony hit-and-run, failure to yield right of way causing serious injury, and having an open container of alcohol in a vehicle.

The state Department of Correction has listed Parrish as an absconder from probation. She was sentenced to 24 months' probation for common-law forgery and passing a worthless check in Moore County in December 2008.

Parrish has a lengthy criminal record dating to 1996, including six convictions for forgery and uttering, two of common-law forgery, and one each of identity theft, possession of drug paraphernalia, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. DOC records show she has served a total of one year in prison for various probation violations.

Why bother looking for her? We'll just have to pay for a seventh trial and probation again. I'm really sorry the soldier got hurt. Ol Forrester March 27, 2009 9:31 a.m. Report abuse This soldier is a close friend of mine. For you to even say something like this truly shows how much you support our soldiers. What if it happened to someone you cared for? I hope this woman is found and and given swift justice!

Sounds like this woman needs a loooooooooooong vacation away from the public. Like three hots and a cot for 10 years.
