Wendell, N.C. — A female student at East Wake High School called 911 Tuesday afternoon after she said someone tried to rape or sexually assault her at the school, Wake County Public Schools spokesman Michael Evans said.
The call was received at approximately 4:50 p.m., Evans said.
Wake County deputies interviewed the student in the gym lobby of the school, located at 5101 Rolesville Road. Paramedics also examined the girl. She was not transported to the hospital and went home with her parents.
No arrests were made, and Sheriff Donnie Harrison says there was conflicting information. Deputies plan to look at school surveillance video and try to contact potential witnesses.
