Selma, N.C. — A manhunt was under way Monday evening along U.S. Highway 70 near Firetower Road in Selma. Police said they were looking for two people following an altercation at the JR Tobacco Factory Outlets.
During the altercation, a retired Johnston County deputy was punched, authorities said. The 74-year-old man was expected to be OK.
Two people were taken custody, police said. Their names were not released.
Johnston County sheriff's deputies were assisting officers in the search for the other two people.
