Fayetteville, N.C. — Cumberland County detectives charged a Fayetteville woman with child neglect after she allegedly left her small children at home alone.
Ida Teresa Bennett, 25, of 432 Starlit Drive, was charged with four counts of neglect because her children were found walking alone on Jan. 26. The children, two girls and 2-year-old and 3-year-old boys, were not fully dressed or wearing shoes when deputies found them on Cattail Circle.
Detectives said Bennett told them she ran out of the house during an attempted break-in and left the children alone inside the home.
Bennett was released from the Cumberland County Detention Center under an $8,000 bond. She was scheduled to make her first court appearance on April 21.

Agreed!
But the sad truth is, many parents would - not good parents mind you, but many parents nonetheless.
Praying for these children. Praying they are forever taken from their mother's care.
Cause I don't believe the break in story.
God bless.

What sort of woman would run and not protect her own children in the face of danger?
