Durham police identify deceased pedestrian

Durham police identified a man struck and killed by a vehicle along Alston Avenue Friday night as Lacy Arnold Parker, 49.

Parker was hit in the 800 block of South Alston Avenue at 9:40 p.m., and EMS workers transported him to Duke University Hospital, but he died of his injuries.

A 45-year-old woman, whose name hasn't been released, was also struck and injured by a vehicle at Pettigrew and Mangum streets shortly after 11 p.m. She was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at Duke University Hospital.

Police have not filed any charges in either collision but were continuing to investigate.
