Cary police warn public about series of break-ins

e-mail print friendly

Cary police are warning homeowners about a series of home burglaries near Dynasty Drive and North Harrison Avenue.

Five break-ins have been reported in that area in March, police said Friday.

Most of the crimes happened during normal business hours, while residents were not at home.

Witnesses have told police that three men driving a white minivan, possibly a Chrysler Town and Country or a Dodge Caravan, were seen at the scenes of the crimes. Witness accounts differ about whether the suspects are three black men or two black men and a white man.

Police remind Cary residents to be vigilant about and report any suspicious activity they see in their neighborhoods.

I'm surprised the races of the men were even mentioned. Isn't that what the PC police say is profiling? But, its about time they returned to mentioning race when describing suspects, or how else can we tell just who/what we're to be on the look out for? As for the cop roomie, that just depends on his/her shift...if they work opposite shifts then that definately helps now does't it? remember the CPD are just people like the rest of us, have good and bad days, busy and unbusy shifts. Give them a break and support them anyway you can...they need citizen support and help, so let's give it to them.

"Luckily my roommate is a cop. So they won't get too far."

Since the break-ins occurred when people were at work, your cop roommate can't help you unless he/she stays home all the time.

I live by there as well. Luckily my roommate is a cop. So they won't get too far.

omg....that's my neighborhood and I hardly lock my door. Starting today I'll be a lot more careful. I have ADT but still anything can happen.

is that good or bad timing? I dont understand your point.

I live here, and the police presence has def increased this month. I have never had a response time with the CPD, in fact just the opposite. If you ever call or need them not just 1 shows up, they bring the whole force.

CPD doing a great job as always!

I didnt realize that there had been 5 break ins in my neighborhood!
