e-mail print friendly

Nearly 1,500 Progress Energy customers were without power along U.S. Highway 70 in Wake and Johnston counties Thursday evening.

Electric service was out to homes and businesses off U.S. 70 between Clayton and Garner, according to the Wake County Sheriff's Office. A tree limb fell onto power lines alongside the highway, Johnston County dispatch officials said.

Progress Energy's Web site showed service was restored by late Thursday.
