Teresa Vaughn, charged in wreck that killed husband

The state Highway Patrol has charged a Durham woman in a wreck that killed her husband last week.

Teresa Vaughn, 49, was charged with felony death by vehicle, driving while impaired, driving while her license was revoked and reckless driving.

Troopers said Vaughn was driving on N.C. Highway 751 near Kerley Road on March 10 when her car ran off the right side of the road. She over-corrected, and the car went off the left side of the road into a ditch, where it overturned, authorities said.

Vaughn was thrown from the car, and her husband, Mark Anthony Vaughn, who was in the back seat, was partially ejected, authorities said. Neither was wearing a seat belt, authorities said.

Mark Vaughn, 55, died at Duke University Hospital later that day, authorities said.

Teresa Vaughn was taken to the hospital for treatment, and she was released Tuesday.

Another passenger in the car, Sabrina Addison, 26, was treated at the hospital for minor injuries and released. She was wearing a seat belt, authorities said.

I tried to say this earlier but I got edited by the thought police. if you want the missing clue look up both her and her husband's criminal record.

knowing these people and their history, we will all be safer with her behind bars

A lot of times and everyone here knows someone like this who drinks a lot and rarely shows signs of being drunk. This could have been the case with this lady. 9 times out of 10 this wasn't the first time she has gotten behind the wheel like this. Sadly i'm pretty sure has learned her lesson. As that commerical goes, buzz driving is drunk driving..

Prayers going out to the family.

Why don't they charge drunks with voluntary manslaughter or at least second degree murder. After all, they Chose to drink, they Chose to drive, therefore, they Chose to kill by knowing that driving drunk could result in a death of one or more?
