Raleigh, N.C. — A spokeswoman for the North Carolina State University's College of Veterinary Medicine said that an anonymous caller helped them find a dog that slipped away from its handler early Sunday.
A man called the university Monday to report that he found Lilly, a black Labrador Retriever mix, walking near Rex Hospital.
Owner Tara Oxley brought Lilly in for treatment at N.C. State's vet school. The dog slipped off her leash while a staffer was exercising her outdoors in a construction site in the 4700 block of Hillsborough Street shortly after midnight.
Staffers looked for her, and campus police came out to help, but they couldn't find her.
