Man arrested for shooting wife on Raleigh road

Raleigh, N.C. — Raleigh police arrested Anthony Lee Cooper, 32, Thursday for shooting his wife.

Cooper faces charges of attempted murder, communicating threats and assault on a female.

Police said Cooper grabbed his wife, Crystal Cooper, and dragged her from their home at 1909 Hadley Road Thursday morning.

The shooting occurred shortly after 7 a.m. at Rock Quarry and Cross Link roads. Police closed Cross Link Road until about 9:30 a.m. to investigate  the incident.

Crystal Cooper was taken to WakeMed Thursday morning with a gunshot wound to her stomach, police said.

Two boys, ages 9 and 2, were with the couple at the time of the shooting, police said.

At his first court appearance, Anthony Cooper was ordered held on $1 million secured bond.

Scarlet, it doesn't say she was killed. I hope he recovers from her injuries. Guns do not kill people. Not one of mine has gotten up and harmed anyone. People kill or shoot people they use guns to harm but you cannot blame the gun. Just like a auto accident people cause accidents not the autos. Sometimes an auto may have have a malfunction which will result in an accident. One more thought another shooting in "Raleigh" ???

GOLO should be ashamed to allow a comment "That's kind of early to be busting caps, dude" when a women has been killed in a domestic violence incident. Not funny and not relevant to the story. I guess the writer thinks it would have been OK if the shooting occurred mid-day?
