Raleigh, N.C. — Raleigh police arrested Anthony Lee Cooper, 32, Thursday for shooting his wife.
Cooper faces charges of attempted murder, communicating threats and assault on a female.
Police said Cooper grabbed his wife, Crystal Cooper, and dragged her from their home at 1909 Hadley Road Thursday morning.
The shooting occurred shortly after 7 a.m. at Rock Quarry and Cross Link roads. Police closed Cross Link Road until about 9:30 a.m. to investigate the incident.
Crystal Cooper was taken to WakeMed Thursday morning with a gunshot wound to her stomach, police said.
Two boys, ages 9 and 2, were with the couple at the time of the shooting, police said.
At his first court appearance, Anthony Cooper was ordered held on $1 million secured bond.
