Fayetteville, N.C. — Cumberland County sheriff’s school resource officers at Seventy-First High School, 6764 Raeford Road in Fayetteville, arrested two students Monday for allegedly bringing drugs and weapons on campus.
Elyssa Sax, 17, of 6938 Melbourne Drive, was charged with possession of ecstasy and possession of a weapon on school campus. Kristin Suggs, 18, of 1913 Columbia Drive, was charged with possession of ecstasy, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of a weapon on school campus.
Deputies say the suspects were arrested at around 11:30 a.m Monday following an anonymous tip. The drugs were discovered during a yearbook and art class at the school.
Sax and Suggs were processed at the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $5,000 secured bond. They will make their first court appearance on Tuesday afternoon.
