Raleigh, N.C. — A man's speech impediment led police to identify him as the suspect in the robbery of a Raleigh Burger King, warrants released Wednesday revealed.
Willie Catts, 32, and Clifton Emmanuel Rollins, 39, were charged with kidnapping, armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery for the incident at the Burger King at 4203 Wake Forest Road on Feb. 23.
The warrant authorized police to search Catts' apartment at 3311-103 Quail Hollow Drive. They seized clothing, knives, box cutters and documents.
According to the warrant, a Burger King employee told investigating officers that the suspect had a lisp, just like a former employee had. She identified that man as "Willie."
A police detective made the connection to Catts, who was arrested shortly thereafter.
