Fayetteville, N.C. — Students at Pine Forest High School in Cumberland County got an early dismissal Tuesday after power went out in their building, district spokeswoman Wanda McPhaul said.
Students were dismissed at 1:15 p.m. Normally, the school day ends at 3:30 p.m.
Two other schools – Warrenwood and Howard Hall elementaries – also lost power, but students were kept in their classrooms. McPhaul said elementary students wore coats and ate cold lunches during the two-hour outage.
