A Fayetteville woman was sentenced Monday to almost six years in prison for bank fraud and identity theft, authorities said.

Kimberly Taylor, 40, pleaded guilty last July to 10 counts of bank fraud and two counts of aggravated identity theft. She was sentenced to 70 months in prison and was ordered to repay $91,933.

Investigators said that, between June 2005 and June 2006, Taylor was working as a mortgage broker and stole the identities of clients or potential clients and submitted phony mortgages to RBC Centura, now RBC Bank. She obtained loans totaling $184,000 in the scheme, authorities said.
