The suspect in the shooting of June P. Carlyle, of Garner, earlier this week has been arrested.

Jose Manuel Valdez-Masias, 44, of 1896 Spring Drive, Garner, was arrested Saturday after being released from WakeMed. He was being held at the Wake County jail pending his first court appearance on Monday. No bond has been set.

Valdez-Masias is charged with first-degree murder in the death of 49-year-old Carlyle, who was shot outside of her home on Tuesday.

Deputies responded to Carlyle's home around 7:30 a.m. Wake County Sheriff Donnie Harrison said the shooting was the result of a domestic dispute. He declined to comment further about the investigation.

Carlyle operated a construction cleaning service out of the house, according to her daughter, Brandi Carlyle. Every morning, workers arrive at the house, get into trucks and head to work, she said.

Valdez-Masias was a former employee, other workers said. He arrived at the house with a gun, shot Carlyle and then shot himself in the stomach, they said.

wow

No bond for him. No deportation. Just send him to jail forever and throw the key
