Chapel Hill, N.C. — Police are investigating a sexual assault alleged to have occurred last Thursday night.
A woman told police that she had gotten off a bus in the area of Orange Methodist Church on Martin Luther King Drive near Homestead Road and was walking toward Chapel Ridge Apartments when a man jumped out from behind a trash bin. The man grabbed her from behind, held a knife to her throat and assaulted her, she said.
The man was described as 5 feet, 8 inches to 5 feet, 10 inches tall and might have been wearing a black wind suit, police said.
