Moore County deputies have arrested Jimmy Dale Epperson, 49, of 122 Shepard St. in Thomasville, and charged him with trafficking in prescription pills.

Undercover agents began monitoring Epperson in 2008 in the Aberdeen area, authorities said.

During the investigation, they purchased and seized about 20 dosage units of Lortab prescription pills, which had an estimated street value of $200.

Monday, deputies charged Epperson with three counts of felony trafficking in opium, one count of felony possession with intent to sell or deliver a Schedule III controlled substance, one count of selling a Schedule III controlled substance, and one count of delivering a Schedule III controlled substance.

Deputies held him in the Moore County Detention Center under a $25,000 secured bond.

Under surveillance since 2008. 20 Lortabs. 25K bond? Somebody, please check my math.

Nothing like the gov overcharging. There is one crime here, not ten. He sold script drugs. That is the crime. Leave it to the d/a's to invent all this horse hockey. No wonder there is no room in the jails. Perhaps the LEO's and d/a's of the country should chill out on this type of activity. What they are saying is that we will do anything to ruin your life once we get something on you. Personally, I could care less about drug offenders, they do not confront me. I'm far more worried about the real criminals out there. Enough is enough.
