Raleigh, N.C. — A 3½-hour police standoff at Villa Apartments, off Jones Franklin Road in Raleigh, ended peacefully Friday, police said.
Officers arrived around 3 p.m. and wanted to talk to a man, but he refused to leave his apartment, Raleigh Police spokesman Jim Sughrue said. The SWAT team responded and officers evacuated some nearby buildings as a precaution.
Eventually, the man voluntarily left his apartment. Police took him to get a mental evaluation, Sughrue.
Police did not plan to file any charges in the incident.
