A tip from Crime Stoppers led Durham police to the arrest of a 40-year-old man accused of stealing a debit card Friday.

Calvin Lewis Davis, of Elizabeth Street, faces charges of financial card theft, obtaining property by false pretense, identity theft and larceny.

Investigators said that Davis took a debit card and other items from a purse in an office at 115 Market St. on Feb. 10, and then used the debit card at a convenience store on Alston Avenue.

Davis was released from prison Jan. 29 after serving five months for credit-card theft, according to state Department of Correction records.

Since 1990, he has spent more than 12 years behind bars for first- and second-degree kidnapping, larceny, nonpayment of child support and drug violations.

Career criminal qualifications, send him away for about 20 years, no parole, no good behavior time. 20 years to the day.

Time to go back big boy. I guess 11 strikes and you're out doesn't apply to this guy. He has 11 felony convictions.
