Raleigh, N.C. — A Raleigh man was charged Sunday with possession of stolen property after Wake County authorities located a State Bureau of Investigation vehicle.
They arrested David Owen Fisher, 47, of 2018 Bedrock Lane.
Someone stole the 2001 Oldsmobile from an SBI logistics coordinator's driveway on Lawndale Street early Friday. Garner police said they believe the thief had previously stolen another car and fled from a traffic stop on New Rand Road.
Wake County deputies responded Sunday morning to a report of an abandoned car on Wellhouse Road. They determined it was the missing SBI car and were able to connect it to Fisher, authorities said. They did not explain how.
Deputies are still working with Garner investigators to determine who stole the car, authorities said.
