Wake Forest, N.C. — A wreck closed northbound lanes of U.S. Highway 1/Capital Boulevard, near the interchange with N.C. Highway 98 Bypass, in Wake Forest on Friday evening.
Vehicles were detoured on Main Street through downtown Wake Forest, and backups of several miles formed on Capital Boulevard.
Sky 5 coverage showed that a truck carrying a piece of heavy equipment had jackknifed. Officials reported injuries and confirmed that a tractor-trailer was involved in the wreck.
Transportation officials said northbound lanes were reopened shortly after 6 p.m.
