Moore County authorities on Thursday charged a second woman with stealing from an 89-year-old Aberdeen man.

Vanessa Cummings Mather, 43, of 141 Edwards Road, was charged with first-degree burglary, attempted common law robbery and assault on the handicapped. She was being held Thursday in the Moore County Jail under a $30,000 bond.

An Aberdeen woman told deputies last week that she saw two women inside her uncle's home and found them searching through his pockets when she entered.

Hannah Lee Howell, 41, was arrested Monday on the same charges.

That’s absolutely despicable. The sad part about this is that they will probably just get a slap on the wrist. I personally vote for hard labor!

how low can they go...

YIKES!!!!!!!!

Erickezman, I think you are right. Meth leaves a big footprint on one's face. And stealing from ANYONE, not just babies or the elderly, is awful.

No excuse for being sorry.
