Person Co. woman raped in home

e-mail print friendly

An elderly Person County woman was raped in her home early Wednesday, Sheriff Dewey Jones said.

The woman, 83, was home alone when a man approached her, told her to close her eyes and committed the act, Jones said. The victim was otherwise unharmed. She was treated at a hospital and released.

The rape was reported to the Person County Sheriff's Office just after 2 a.m. Jones said deputies found evidence that the suspect may have entered the home through the basement.

The victim was unable to describe her attacker. Deputies with dogs searched near the home and interviewed several people, Jones said. He asked that anyone with information contact the Person County Sheriff's Office at 336-597-0500.

God help all of us women and children. This world is not for us!!

I agree w/ Justin T. :"Someone who rapes a defenseless old person should be prosecuted just like a pedophile. It is a sick and disgusting crime."

TOTALLY AGREE WITH EDUARDO. YOU NEVER SEE ANY POLITICIAN TALKING ABOUT CRIME OR THE PUNISHMENTS FOR IT. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE A BAILOUT PLAN OR SOMETHING IN THE STIMULUS BILL TO BUILD MORE PRISONS, WELL WHAT DO YOU KNOW PRODUCING MORE JOBS. PUT MORE OF THESE ANIMALS BEHIND BARS. IF THEY ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE TV GIVE THEM LEARNING CHANNEL OR DISNEY. MILK, WATER AND BREAD FOR FOOD. IM A TOTAL BELIEVER IN CAPITAL PUNISHMENT. ONCE THE CRIMINALS SEE THE PUNISHMENT HANDED OUT I BET YOU WOULD SEE LESS CRIME OR AT LEAST LESS REPEAT OFFENDERS. I FOR ONCE WOULD LIKE TO SEE WHERE POLITICIANS STAND ON THESE ISSUES. THESE ARE ISSUES THAT EFFECT EVERYONE INCLUDING THE CRIMINAL.

I see know statement by the Sheriff, that "she was otherwise unharmed", yet some of you want him out of office for that remark. and RB, I think only beasts prey on everyone, not just those that you itemized. RAPE, should be a Capital crime. Just as we talk about second-hand smoke, harming people, I feel as a human being (man) I am harmed by every crime. CRIME is out of control in this country, and I have yet to see on any level of politics, when those running for office, list crime as a major or in most cases any plank on there platform. Just look at those 3 Judges in Ca, about to let out 79,000 animals, cause they do not have creature comforts. Put them in pup tents in the desert, just like Sheriff Joe does. TV, watch the Disney channel, top meal, bologna sandwiches. Roads are in disrepair let convicts work on that problem

God bless the thought police. Shoot me a line if you want to know my solution to this problem.
