Chapel Hill, N.C. — Chapel Hill police are investigating an attempt by a Grey Culbreth Middle School student to take a weapon to school.
Police spokesman Lt. Kevin Gunter said Wednesday that the student told officials he took a knife to a school bus stop in Carrboro on Tuesday and left it hidden under some straw.
Carrboro police officers found the knife in the location the student described, Gunter said.
The student's name and age were not released, and Gunter said the investigation is ongoing.
