Morrisville, N.C. — A car fire along Interstate 40 eastbound sent smoke billowing over rush-hour traffic Wednesday morning.
A red-and-white SUV caught fire shortly after 8 a.m. along the side of the road between between Interstate 540 and Airport Boulevard. Smoke was pouring from the vehicle when emergency crews arrived.
Durham and Morrisville firefighters quickly brought the fire under control.

Fuel filter is under the passenger area along the frame of the truck. It's not in the engine bay.
