Clayton, N.C. — Police were searching Tuesday for two men in a shooting outside Clayton High School two weeks ago.
Someone fired two shots in a parking lot at Clayton High on Jan. 27 while a basketball game was being played in the school gymnasium, police said. A bullet struck a brick wall outside the gymnasium, but no injuries or damage were reported.
Police obtained warrants charging Nobbie Lee Dubose III, 18, of 219 Cottonwood Drive in Clayton, and Rasheive Dashawn Ray, 16, of 860 Taft St. in Selma, with felonious discharge of a firearm on educational property and attempting to fire a weapon into occupied property.
Investigators haven't determined the motive for the shooting, but they said they don't believe it was related to the basketball game between Clayton High and Garner High School.
Police also charged Capricia Renee Johnson, 16, of 176 Clearwater Drive in Smithfield, with obstructing justice in the case.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Dubose or Ray is asked to call the Clayton Police Department at 919-553-4611.
