Hope Mills, N.C. — A motorist died in a single-vehicle wreck outside Hope Mills early Saturday, the state Highway Patrol said.
Troopers said Earnest Ward lost control of his car on Sand Hill Road and Timber Grove Drive at about 3:20 a.m. Ward ran into a brick sign and was ejected from the vehicle, troopers said.
Alcohol and speed were thought to have been factors in the crash, troopers said.
