Teens, 9-year-old hurt in Johnston wreck

e-mail print friendly

A wreck east of Clayton sent a 9-year-old boy and two teenagers to the hospital Friday morning, state troopers said.

A Chevrolet sedan was heading north on Thanksgiving Fire Road, and a blue minivan was going east on Jordan Narron Road shortly after 7 a.m. Troopers said the minivan's driver failed to yield at a stop sign, causing a T-bone collision with the Chevrolet.

Three occupants of the minivan sustained non-serious injuries. Two teenagers were taken to Johnston Medical Center-Smithfield, and a 9-year-old boy was transported to WakeMed in Raleigh.

It was not a teen driving. It was the mother of the 9 year old. She is a teacher at my daughter's school. The boy needs our prayers.

Yeah, that's a good idea. Raise the driving age.

...Then we'll just have a bunch of "irresponsible" adults driving.

I'd like to see some statistics on how many elderly people who's "gas pedals get jammed" that cause wrecks. Or soccer moms/dads talking their lives away on their cell phones that cause wrecks. Yet somehow, only teenagers are "irresponsible."

and even if teens were driving, it does not state which vehicle they were in...

No where in the article does it say a teen was driving. Just two teens and a 9 year old was injured. Maybe mom was taking the teens and the 9 year old to school.
