Princeton, N.C. — A teen driver was involved in a wreck at Old Rock Quarry and Old Cornwallis roads Thursday night, Johnston County officials confirmed.
The single-vehicle wreck occurred at about 7:15 p.m. when driver Taylor Edwards, 16, of Princeton, lost control of the vehicle and hit a ditch, N.C. Highway Patrol said. The vehicle overturned and Edwards had to be cut out of the vehicle.
Edwards was lifeflighted to Duke Medical Center for non life-threatening injuries.
Authorities said the cause of the accident initially appeared to be inattention. Charges are pending.
Old Rock Quarry Road was closed for about 90 minutes due to the wreck.
