A teen driver was involved in a wreck at Old Rock Quarry and Old Cornwallis roads Thursday night, Johnston County officials confirmed.

The single-vehicle wreck occurred at about 7:15 p.m. when driver Taylor Edwards, 16, of Princeton, lost control of the vehicle and hit a ditch, N.C. Highway Patrol said. The vehicle overturned and Edwards had to be cut out of the vehicle.

Edwards was lifeflighted to Duke Medical Center for non life-threatening injuries.

Authorities said the cause of the accident initially appeared to be inattention. Charges are pending.

Old Rock Quarry Road was closed for about 90 minutes due to the wreck.

Here to correct myself again, incase others are reading my post---it COULD have been must worse.

If I had gone to a local hospital when I had my wreck, I wouldn't be here today. I was airlifted to Pitt. My wife and family thank God for that EMS who made the choice to send me there.

Here hoping for a speedy recovery Taylor!

Jason

I would like to mention that I'm glad she is going to be OK, it couldn't have been much worse!

leo-nc --- Princeton is known for airlifting people all the time with non life threatening injuries! Makes no sense, but it is true.
