Hope Mills, N.C. — A construction crew working to install a water line severed a natural gas line Tuesday morning at a property in Hope Mills.
A stretch of Main Street was closed, and several businesses were evacuated for about an hour.
Firefighters closed part of Main Street while crews with Piedmont Natural Gas repaired the pipe at 2109 Main St.
