Wake Forest, N.C. — Wake Forest police are stepping up patrols along a walking path after a teenager was stabbed.
On Jan. 26, officers said, a man approached a 15-year-old boy while he was running along a wooded trail near the Heritage Wake Forest neighborhood. The man demanded money and then stabbed the teen, police said.
The wound was not life-threatening, they said.
"I think they definitely should patrol the area a little more often so that there is an awareness that there are a few more police cars driving through our neighborhood. It’s safe in general, (and) I think it is just one of those strange incidents that happen,” said Johanna Miller, a Heritage homeowner.
Residents received an update on the investigation at a homeowners association meeting Monday night. Police said they are following up on leads, but haven't made any arrests.
The attacker wore dirty blue jeans and a navy blue hoodie sweatshirt, police said.
Police are asking anyone with information about the case to call Crime Stoppers at 919-226-CRIME.

Agreed, but why DIDN'T the article mention his race? It's probably not PC or something, but to me that just seems very basic - whether the guy is black, white, hispanic or asian. I mean, if the guy is still on the loose, and you want the public's help in finding him, is it not just basic to include the race in the description.
