Car crashes into Hardee's after police pursuit

e-mail print friendly

A driver who police say refused to pull over for a traffic stop Friday ended up crashing his car into a Hardee's restaurant on Murchison Road, Fayetteville police said.

Officers tried to stop the car around noon while patrolling the residential area around Bonnie Doone, which has seen an increase in property crimes. The driver refused to stop and tried to elude the officers, driving in what police described as "a careless and reckless manner."

They chased the car until the driver crashed it into the Hardee's, 3405 Murchison Road.

The driver – identified as William D. Hill, 49 – then tried to run away, police said. Officers said they caught him a short distance away.

Hill was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center to be treated. The extent of his injuries was unknown.

Police had not filed any charges in the incident Friday afternoon, but were continuing to investigate.

After all that hard driving, had to get a burger. Wouldn't have crashed if the cop hadn't rushed him through the Drive-Thru. He should have known better. I haven't been to a 'quick' Hardees in a LONG time. I usually have to be desperate to want to waste so much time

He was trying to get a Quick Burger!! hahaha

At least he did a public service by possibly putting that hardees outta business for a day or two. Of course this will probably be edited or deleted by a moderator that likes hardees.
