Wilmington, N.C. — A federal court jury has convicted a Fayetteville man on 27 child pornography charges, authorities said Friday.
Daniel Nicholas Buczkowski, 55, was found guilty of 27 counts of transportation of child pornography. He will be sentenced in May.
A technician at a computer repair shop found pictures on Buczkowski's laptop computer in May 2007 of young children being sexually abused. Authorities said the laptop was transported between Fayetteville and Iraq, where Buczkowski worked as a contractor.
Fayetteville police also charged Buczkowski in May 2007 in an alleged rape of a 10-year-old girl. He still faces state charges of first-degree forcible rape, first-degree forcible sexual offense and taking indecent liberties with a minor in the case.
