A Raleigh woman was arrested in a prostitution sting after authorities said she placed an ad for her services on the online classifieds site Craigslist, according to court documents.

Nakea Shante Harrison, 25, was arrested in November 2008. She was released from the Wake County Jail on a $2,000 the same day.

Raleigh detectives had received a tip that a woman, who was using Craigslist to solicit customers, had set up in a room at the Holiday Inn at 616 Highwoods Blvd.

Free money (non taxed) is the only reason prostitution is illegal. The government doesnt want anybody earning money that they cant skim off the top.

you get 'em nc reader!

"With all the serious crime that goes on in this state why worry about one little girl trying to make a few dollars?"

"Little girl"? This is a grown woman. As long as people continue to make derogatory comments like this toward women, there will be prostitution -- men with money and women who think they have to sell their bodies to be worth anything.

Arrest 2007, arrest Nov 2008, your article is unclear, is this yet another arrest, or old news. It is against the law, so it is a lawful arrest. I just wonder when we will join the rest of the civilized world and legalize it. Eliminate corruption, free up police to do real crime work, free up judges to do more crime work, have exams by medical people of these women, get license fees and taxes, take the pimps out of the system, etc

"But why? Where is the crime, who is the victim? It should be legal, regulated and taxed."

I wasn't answering a "why?" question, just the "who cares?" question.
