Orange County 911 center to get new home

The Orange County 911 Call Center will be moved into a new building Tuesday, and staff are ready for the transition, Emergency Services officials said.

The new building, on Meadowland Drive in Hillsborough, will have new equipment and more space for future growth. Federal grants largely funded construction of the new building.

EMS staff have been training for the past 90 days to ensure that 911 service is seamless throughout the move, officials said. Callers to 911 should see no change in service.

If anyone has trouble calling 911, they can call 919-732-5063 for emergency help.
