Apex, N.C. — An altercation at a McDonald's restaurant in north Apex led to a shooting Friday evening, police said.
Apex police said an altercation started in a McDonald's inside an Exxon gas station, at Lake Pine Drive and U.S. Highway 64, around 6 p.m. The fight spilled out into the parking lot, and a person was shot on Pine Plaza Drive.
Police said that the victim, whose identity was withheld, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Witnesses told WRAL News that person who was shot was a boy.
Police said they had some people in custody and were questioning them. Officers did not release more details about the shooting but said the investigation was ongoing Saturday evening.
The Wake County Sheriff's Office also responded to the shooting.
