The N.C. Department of Transportation will close two lanes of Interstate 540 in North Raleigh on Saturday for road work.
Two of three eastbound lanes near milemaker 17 and the ramp from northbound U.S. Highway 1 to I-540 east will be closed (see map below, in red) from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., weather permitting.
A detour (map, orange) will direct drivers from U.S. 1 to turn right on Old Wake Forest Road (State Road 2030) and left on Triangle Town Boulevard and to follow to I-540 East.
The closures are necessary for a contractor to complete punch list items for the I-540 project, DOT said.
