Firefighters had to conduct what they call a high-level rescue at a Costco store at the intersection of Six Forks and Wake Forest roads in Raleigh Thursday morning.

Employees at the store said a man was doing some work on the roof of the building when he slipped on some ice and dislocated his shoulder.

Wake County EMS spokesman Jeff Hammerstein, however, said he was unsure what happened and could not say if snow or ice on the roof was a factor in the accident.

I'm sorry the guy fell but why is this television newsworthy? The siding blew off my house during the last big storm. Why didn't the news come there? I mean, come on people!!!

Did anyone watch this on the news the 2 on TV had no clue waht was going on. They had the aerial up off the ladder truck and they thought it was a crane and did not know what a stokes basket was

"The burn just as much fuel on news patrol, boring holes in the sky, as they do covering a news event."

That's absolutely false. Sky 5 is flown by a hired entity, the chopper sits at RDU (near TWY T5) until someone calls for it to cover something. They don't just fly around looking for news...

I've been in roofing for more than 20 years and seen many people lifted off of roofs, even recently my co-worker tore some knee ligaments. I've only once seen it make news and that's because it was a small town and the worker was dangling in mid-air unconscous. I don't know how this made the news but I'm glad he isn't seriously injured.

"Why get on a roof with snow and icee to begin with."

Uh, like maybe it was his JOB?
