Raleigh police probe fatal shooting

Raleigh police were investigating the fatal shooting of a man found on Camden Street on Tuesday.

Officers got a call about 6:30 p.m. that there was a shooting victim along the 300 block of Camden Street. The man was dead from a gunshot wound when they got there, they said.

Police said they did not know who the man was. He was believed to be in his 20s.

The Raleigh Police Department's Major Crimes Task Force was investigating and asked for anyone with information that might help  to call 919-996-3555.

Too many guns owned by gangs and other unstable types who want to create their own "militia".

It is too cold to be shooting people, though there has been a lot of foot traffic for the icy conditions of the sidewalks and roads.

I did see a line of cars around 12:30 am Wed. nearby on Hargett... Several officers got out on foot at Swain, but I didn't see where they went from there. I thought something was up, but didn't hear any shots.
