Rocky Mount, N.C. — A Rocky Mount firefighter is recovering after receiving serious burns to his left foot and ankle while fighting a fire Saturday, department officials said in a release.
Kerry Dennis was injured while responding to a mobile-home fire, off N.C. Highway 43 North, around 8 a.m.
Dennis was transported to Nash Health Care Emergency Center and later moved to the Burn Center in Chapel Hill. He was listed in good condition Monday morning.
Dennis has been a Rocky Mount firefighter for a little more than two years.
