Raleigh police car rear-ended in wreck

A Raleigh police officer was injured Thursday morning in a vehicle collision on Poole Road at Carya Drive, a spokesman said.

The officer was making a U-turn when his patrol car and another vehicle collided. Police said the cruiser was hit from behind.

The officer was taken to Wake Med with minor injuries. No other injuries were reported and the cause of the wreck had not been determined.

the cause of the wreck was a cop not looking where he was going and turning in front of someone. how hard is that to determine?

Interesting...when a girl slammed into me at an intersection a few years ago (I was stopped, she wasn't paying attention/on cellphone and didn't realize that traffic was stopped)..NO ONE got a ticket. I was told NC is a "no fault" state. The police officer had us exchange insurance info and he left.

Lucky he did not turn in to a char broiled officer, those P71s have a bad habit of burning when struck in the rer due to gas tank rupture. Very lucky guy!
