Crime statistics from the FBI show Fayetteville ranks second in the state when it comes to bank robberies.

In 2007, Fayetteville had 21 bank robberies. The year before, there were 26 bank robberies in the city.

Only Charlotte had more bank robberies, according to Amy Thoreson, spokesperson for the FBI.

Raleigh ranked third behind Fayetteville. Greensboro was fourth.

Thoreson said there’s no obvious reason why Fayetteville ranks so high when it comes to bank robberies.

Fayetteville police have already made an arrest in the first bank robbery of 2009. Two Fort Bragg soldiers are charged with robbing the RBC Centura off Village Drive January 6th. The same soldiers are also charged with robbing the RBC Centura on McPherson Church Road in December.

I guess this guy does not live in Fayetteville. If he did, he would know the reason why Fayetteville ranks so high when it comes to bank robberies.
