Kenly man indicted on food-tampering charge

Smithfield, N.C. — A Johnston County grand jury on Monday indicted a Kenly man on a felony charge related to food tampering and being caught on a Web cam performing a sex act in his former colleague's office.

George Harold Jones, 68, of 1209-C Abednego Road, was arrested last month on the charge, which is based on General Statutes Section 14-101.11, which prohibits anyone from knowingly distributing any edible substance that contains any other substance that could be damaging to another person's heath.

Paula Parrish, an administrator at Johnston Community College, where Jones used to work, said a Web cam that she had installed in her office captured Jones masturbating in her office last December and, afterward, touching various items on her desk, including gum.

Jones, who was a maintenance worker at the college, retired after Parrish filed a complaint with the college. He has said that he is embarrassed by his behavior and that he does not know why he did what he did.

He is out of jail on $5,000 bond.

He needs to be charged with a felony for food tampering. Anyone posting that this is too much... just let me know the next time you go to a restaurant and I'll take your food in the back room and "taint" it. I'm sure you'll agree that it is perfectly fine and gobble up the man-sauce. Crazy talk. You'd be mad as fire if this happened to you or a loved one.

no body, you need another soap box to rally for the poor victim. Some of us on here know her and you've preached long enough. It's quite possible his perceptions of her could have prevented if she had been perceived as more conservative in her actions and appearance. Don't understand? Ask Mr. Johnson.
