Raleigh, N.C. — Saint Augustine's College launched what officials described as a "convenient and informative" emergency-alert system.
The Rave Alert system can notify students, faculty and staff of emergencies through multiple mediums, including text messages, email and recorded phone messages.
Messages can be sent to the entire campus community or targeted to a specific dorm or class.
"We encourage every student, faculty and staff member to register quickly," Dr. Ronald Brown, vice president for enrollment management, said. "Rave Alert will provide immediate notification during critical times."
The alert system is operated by New York-based Rave Wireless.
