A judge set bond at $400,000 for Tony Edward Bynum Wednesday. Bynum is charged with first-degree murder in the death of his mother, Annie.

He had been held without bond in the Johnston County Jail since his arrest.

Investigators found Annie Bynum dead inside her home on Oct. 8.

Tony Bynum, 42, told deputies he was out all night and was not at the house, family members said. Relatives said he had problems with alcohol and drugs.

I've never heard of a bond for someone accused of first degree murder.

I think you have to put up 15% of your bond, so in this case that would be $60,000. He could put up his mother's house and property for collateral......but she can't sign the bond papers because SHE IS DEAD, by his own hands!!!

Want a higher bond kill or hurt an animal. They seem to be more important to a lot of people. iron fist

I wish that was the case...... And yes, Animals are more important to me.

Another sad story of NC's justice system... if he can kill his own mother, he can kill anyone! His bond needs to be revoked.
