"His cell phone has been hitting off of several cell phone towers in the area. He was suppose to have dialysis 6 am this morning. Heard he has Alzheimer's, and has no idea where he is. Tried to get the HP helicopter flying, but can't due to rain."

Solution:

If you have been diagnosed with Alzheimers, you are required to turn over your drivers license. Your automobile must be turned over to family FREE of charge, and you may no longer be able to go anyplace without a nurse.

All nursing homes must shunt their doors locked at 6:00 PM, and the only way in or out is through the nurses station.

I wish they would stop these silver alerts. I am getting to the point where I turn off the TV and Radio when they come on.

This abuse of the system has to stop.

"The man was lost, and the sheriff department found him after 8pm"

That was good - then why was the alert launched at 8:30? It blasted me and the dog out of the chair!

I can understand if it is localized, but blasting out something for an old man who wasn't necessarily lost, but having car problems is LUDICRIS!

It is misleading to call it "canceled". The man was lost, and the sheriff department found him after 8pm, two miles down a dirt road, with his vehicle on fire, and starting to suffer from hypothermia. Wish WRAL did a better job covering the specifics of this silver alert instead of people thinking that it was another case of crying wolf.

"good GRIEF I've NEVER heard of running "silver alerts" every other day like this place does. cry wolf, cry wolf, cry wolf!"

It's not crying wolf, but they obviously have too many of them. I don't even pay attention to them anymore. They were probably meant for extreme cases, but that's not the case. I've seen several that were issued because a bi-polar person was off their meds for a few days. That's WAY too common to be issuing alerts.

bs101fly if the person missing was someone you loved, you would want the information put out.

I hope that they find him soon and that he will be alright. It helps that there is a picture of him.
